Case Studies
Publication: Water Pipeline Condition Assessment
Abstract
This chapter’s case studies describe various condition assessment projects. The case studies include Weber Basin Water Conservancy District in Utah, Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department in Florida, Tarrant Regional Water District in Texas, San Diego County Water Authority in California, Pinellas County Utilities in Florida, Dallas Water Utilities in Texas, and City of Houston Department of Public Works and Engineering in Texas. Often projects use multiple technologies to optimize testing results, depending upon pipe material and size, expected pipe condition, whether the pipe is in or can be taken out of service, and other factors. In each case, the results obtained were found to be reasonably conclusive in determining pipeline conditions and useful for making pipeline rehabilitation and/or replacement recommendations.
