Condition Assessment Report

A condition assessment report’s content varies from project to project and utility to utility. These variations are attributable to the unique needs of the project, type and size of pipe, transmission versus distribution, and budget constraints of the utility. This chapter provides guidelines for a comprehensive condition assessment report to help the utility decide on project prioritization and implementation. The intent is for the utility to consider these recommendations, either supplementing or eliminating work items, to help form a scope of work for the project. A good field investigation program forms the basis for the condition assessment. Any condition assessment report should include a comprehensive description and document the data collection process. The chapter provides recommendations for documenting the data collection process.
