Abstract
In this paper, influence factors of pedestrian speed and pedestrian crossing velocity distribution are analyzed using the pedestrian speed observation data. More than 9,000 samples are collected from five kinds of land use areas in Guangzhou, including business district, transport hub, neighborhood, university campus, and comprehensive land use. The main influence factors of pedestrian crossing speed are the condition of road infrastructure, pedestrian signals, and pedestrian flow characteristics. Impact of these influence factors on pedestrian crossing speed is studied. This research also provides the reference for design and management of pedestrian crossing facilities.
