Abstract
Under the conditions of various exhibition layout and exhibit forms, the "attracting power" and "holding power" proposed on some exhibits lack comparability and portability, it is hard to give quantitative discrimination method on exhibit display strategy and presentation programmers during exhibition planning and design process. The paper takes a popular science exhibition, science and technology culture exhibition, and commercial exhibition as examples and defines the visitor behavior from the view of traffic, uses the data of "the visitors' viewing time at the first exhibit" to analyze the attraction of different types of exhibits to visitors. The three most common kinds of exhibit forms—linear, radial, and hall, and the three common types of exhibits— "model + video (M + S)," "model (M)," and "video (S)" are screened. Based on unobtrusive observation, the data of visitors' viewing time at the exhibit was collected, the method of nonparametric test from mathematical statistics was used to analyze the diversity and change law of visitors' viewing time on different exhibit forms and different types of exhibits, then to carry out the discrete degree of visitors' viewing time. At last, the paper gives exhibition hall arrangement and choice of exhibit forms planning method based on efficiency and comfort.
