Abstract
According to the latest research, electronic enforcement could effectively restrain the occurrence of traffic violation and reduce the number of traffic accidents. Although present research results confirmed the important role of electronic enforcement in improving road traffic safety; however, the research on its mechanism of action is not sufficient. Based on the traffic survey, not only the interest-driven mechanism of different driving behaviors is analyzed at signalized intersection, but also the producing and acting mechanisms of electronic enforcement are explained by game theory. The results show that the electronic enforcement has deterrent effect mainly because of the effectiveness and enforcing operation of traffic law. The deterrent effect of electronic enforcement will affect driving behavior in certain time and space and thus restrain the occurrence of traffic violations. The results are helpful to manage electronic enforcement scientifically.
