Abstract
China High Speed railway network has a large percentage of slab tracks based on foreign designs like Shinkasen, Bogl, Zublin, and Rheda2000. These have been modified for local conditions and renamed Chinese Railway Track System (CRTS). In this paper, the field performance of CRTSI structure (similar to the Japanese Shinkasen) is analyzed when part of the cement asphalt mortar is broken. The experiment is carried out on the Suining-Chongqing (SuiYu) line where four kinds of trains are running, HXD1C, HXD3C, CRH-1, and SS7. A static finite element model is presented to predict limiting values of CA mortar breakages that are acceptable. Preliminary performance of two resins, SKD801 and SKD803, as CA mortar repair material is put forward because they are found to have significant impact when used. These two products are manufactured by Sichuan Civil Engineering Company Ltd, China.
