Optimization of Railway Empty Container Transportation

Publication: ICTE 2013: Safety, Speediness, Intelligence, Low-Carbon, Innovation

Abstract

Combining the features of the railway container allocation and state-of-art empty container management (ECM), in this paper, we give a complete discrimination of the ECM and propose a method for ECM based on customer value and transport cost. Starting from the study of the railway container customer value, a railway container customer value assessment index system for evaluation of customer value is established to assess the customer. Furthermore the model of the ECM based on "value-cost" strategy is obtained, and the method for the solution is also presented.
