Traffic Safety Comprehensive Evaluation of Long Downhill Section
Publication: ICTE 2013: Safety, Speediness, Intelligence, Low-Carbon, Innovation
Abstract
To improve the safety condition of long downhill sections of highway, the paper analyzed the main factors that influence traffic safety on long downhill sections, introduced the disadvantages of previous traffic safety evaluation method, and put forward the traffic safety comprehensive evaluation method with multiple indices. The traffic safety comprehensive evaluation index was calculated using principal-component-cluster analysis method to assess the safety condition of the sample sections. The validation case in this study shows that result of the traffic safety comprehensive evaluation reflect the safety condition of long downhill sections accurately.
