Driver Factors Analysis of Rear-End Accidents at Signalized Intersections

Abstract
Rear-end accidents are the main form of traffic accidents. It is more likely to happen at signalized intersections, because the diversity of actions taken increases as a result of signal change. This paper researches rear-end accidents that happened in Michigan in 2009. The authors analyze the driver factors of rear-end accidents at signalized intersections based on multiple logistic regression model to find out the related factors including adult drivers, driver distracted, medication, failed to stop in assured clear distance. Finally some corresponding preventive measures are put forward.
