Railway Empty Container Allocation Problem Analysis and Optimization

Publication: ICTE 2013: Safety, Speediness, Intelligence, Low-Carbon, Innovation

Abstract

This paper reviews the existing research results of the allocation of empty containers. It gives a systematized description of the allocation of empty containers and makes an in-depth analysis of the subjective and objective reasons for the empty container allocation. Under the conditions of market economy, cost and service are the two mainly considered points of modern management. To reduce the cost of empty container allocation and improve the quality of service, this paper sets up an optimization model. This model is established based on the principle of minimum cost and maximum satisfaction.
