Abstract
This paper analyzes the deficiencies of the traditional method of passenger OD survey as well as provides a new transport investigation method based on Google Maps. Through a friendly user interface platform, the method eliminates the need for manual data entry by using a standardized form of data. While avoiding the separation of the survey and the statistics, it also greatly enhances the credibility of the data and saves the costs of survey and data entry. Moreover, the method increases interest, reduces the work intensity, and improves the accuracy. In all, vast vistas are opened up through this method.
