A Study of the Programming Method for a Senior Citizen Shuttle Bus Based on the Optimization Theory
Publication: ICCTP 2011: Towards Sustainable Transportation Systems
Abstract
Since China has gradually stepped into an aging society, the contradiction of travel between senior citizens and the young and middle-aged has become increasingly acute. Therefore, in order to separate senior citizens from others and alleviate the contradiction, it is essential that research on building up a Senior Citizens Shuttle Bus should be conducted. In this essay, we analyze the features of senior citizen travel in terms of travel rate, means of transport, purposes of travel, etc. Then, we discuss the programming method for a Senior Citizens Shuttle Bus. Through the social benefits maximization principle, we can define the service frequency with the optimization theory.
