Setting Way and Running Analysis of Feeder Routes at Signal Intersections

Abstract
The key point to implementing bus priority is ensuring bus priority at intersections. In fact, the majority of bus-only lanes end some distance before the stop-line; extending the ends may bring about inefficient and insecure operation considering the conflicts between buses and general vehicles. Setting feeder routes at intersections may solve these problems. The introduction of a setting method for feeder routes is given. Two plans to organize the running of vehicles on the feeder routes are presented. According to the vehicle merging probability mode, a length design method for the feeder routes is developed, which also takes the merging probability of social vehicles and bus flow into account.
