Abstract
In order to improve the capability of traffic emergency management on a large bridge and ensure the safe use of the bridge, the demand for the bridge in a traffic emergency, e.g., traffic accidents or severe weather conditions, must be analyzed. A review of the possible circumstances when an emergency involves traffic safety or causes traffic congestion was conducted. Emergencies are ranked in accordance with criteria, such as the sphere of influence and severity of potential accidents. Additional research will examine the corresponding emergency measures to meet emergency management needs.
