Abstract
At present, various types of traffic monitoring devices have been brought into wide use. However, these devices are often out of control because devices are not supervised. The efficiency of real-time display device utilization is limited. To this end, we have developed a wide range management system in order to manage the various information of traffic monitoring devices effectively. In this article, we describe the GIS-based traffic monitoring devices management system (GTMDMS), which is multi-department, cross-regional and cross-traffic. The main parts of the system including system framework, functional design, network architecture, and Oracle database design are introduced. Moreover, ARCGIS as a development tool is used for visual development in this system. This system provides a technical support for the full and effective management and use for the transportation resources.
