Optimization of Fresh Agricultural Products Supply Chain in a Region

Abstract
The fresh agricultural product is deteriorating item and its deterioration process is random in the circulation process. However the valuable loss of the agricultural product has a close relationship with its deterioration degree and freshness. Based on the valuable loss function, newsboy model, market demand rate and other factors, a profit function of three-level fresh agricultural products supply chain system is put forward in the paper. The three-level decentralized supply chain system is constituted by suppliers, distributors and retailers. It is concluded that a reasonable number of distributors in a region can make the three-level decentralized supply chain system achieve its best profit. Finally, an example shows the profit model is valid to optimizing the fresh agricultural products supply chain.
