Research on Public Parking Reservation System Based on SMS
Publication: ICTIS 2011: Multimodal Approach to Sustained Transportation System Development: Information, Technology, Implementation
Abstract
This article conducts research on Public Parking Reservation System (PPRS), which provides parking reservation service for the public, in order to effectively reduce traffic volume, traffic jam and the waste of time caused by seeking parking lots which would reduces environmental pollution and energy dissipation. The article describes the data flow framework of Public Parking Reservation System (PPRS) with four main modules. The key technologies of the system implementation are analyzed deeply, including the method of extracting characteristic information from Short Message Service (SMS), detection technology of real-time parking spaces status, model of Dynamic Parking Spaces Allocation (DPSA), and pre-charge system for parking reservation. In DPSA, the objective function is minimizing the total quantity of Discontinuous Time Slot, in order to reduce difficulty of subsequent parking spaces allocation and improve the operating efficiency.
