Abstract
Interchange type is closely related with interchange function and land usage. In order to reduce land usage, under the guidance of the Projection Pursuit Methods, computer and traffic engineering theory etc. along with the actual surveys of interchange type and design parameters, on the basis of analyzing the factors influencing of various interchange type; hence the paper uses Projection Pursuit Methods to build land-saving projection indicators function. Genetic Algorithm is applied to optimize the function, and Matlab 7.0, which is statistical analysis software and is used to develop the corresponding computer program. This study proposes the optimal scheme of the saving interchange type, which will provide a theoretical basis for interchange design to save land and protect environment.
