Abstract
The safety assessment is an important work in maritime transportation. How to measure the safety effectively is a question for the scholars and engineers. For the purpose of evaluating the safety of bridge waterway area, the unascertained measure was proposed and the credible identification was set up after the introduction of the basic knowledge of the unascertained measure and the analysis of risk factors. The weight of assessment indexes was determined by improved Analytic Hierarchy Process model. Then, the method was introduced into the preliminary safety assessment of bridge waterway. Finally, engineering practice showed that the method proposed here can complete the safety assessment systematically and scientifically without assumption. The work has significance in theory and practice for safety assessment.
