Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to introduce the microscopic traffic simulation software VISSIM model and theoretical basis. Based on the intersection's peculiar forms of transportation, complex situation and the common problems, the thesis made a thorough analysis of the investigation of the existing traffic condition and systematically introduces the plane junction single point signal control timing design and traffic flow theory. The research method in this thesis is resistance simulation carried out by using software VISSIM, and proved that it can be used for real time detection and meets the requirements for practical use. The research work and the conclusion improve and optimization the traffic design scheme. The practice shows that traffic micro-simulation is the effective way of solving traffic problems. At the same time, traffic simulation has got wide applications along with the development of the computer technology and the transportation theories and produced a good social and economic benefit.
