Abstract
Real time traffic information is helpful to traffic management departments and the drivers. In this paper, we present a dynamic traffic information system based on vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) which can send real time traffic conditions to the users including traffic control center, running vehicles, traffic information providers, and so on. To support traffic data exchange among vehicles and infrastructures, the whole architecture includes the vehicle to vehicle, vehicle to infrastructure, and infrastructure to infrastructure communication. The simulation results prove that it can transmit data efficiently.
