Express Network Compatibility Decision Model Based on Network Effects

Abstract
After analyzing express network effects, this paper formulates express customer utility model and proposes a three-stage dynamic game model to study the compatibility decision in two subdivisional markets having four enterprises. Results show that, if unit costs don't increase, enterprises always have motive of chosing compatibility and reveal mathematical relationship between profit, price, demand scale and market size, network size. Finally, the model is verified using an actual example.
