Abstract
Conventional consideration on transportation efficiency or logistics network planning, usually target shortening of time or distance of delivery in many ways. However, the idea of reducing energy consumption and pollution in Logistics research area is still new. Governments and eco-protection organizations have been active in environment protection by advocating more eco-friendly way of living. However, until now we still lack of constructive ideas and research, many measures haven't been carried out effectively. This paper intends to give an optimized logistics network planning based on energy saving point of view. With the help of relevant data, we analyze and simulate the energy consumption of different transportation tools. Simulation platforms have been built to calculate how to lay out the distribution centers to make a logistics area more energy saving and eco-protecting. Simulation results shows that logistics network design which keep energy saving as the point of view will decrease energy consumption significantly compared to conventional time or distance optimized logistics network. In addition, the proposed method can be extended to any transportation network planning.
