Fuzzy Expert System for Flexible Pavements Crack Performance Prediction
Publication: ICLEM 2010: Logistics For Sustained Economic Development: Infrastructure, Information, Integration
Abstract
In this paper, we have developed an Expert System based on fuzzy logic to predict the crack performance of the flexible pavements, given the parameters of pavement construction materials, pavement thickness, age of the road and total traffic count. A graphical user interface with visual C++ was built, which invokes the fuzzy inference engine when submitted with the required input data. The result obtained by the computation of fuzzy inference system is sent to the GUI window as crack width. The rules defining the behavior of the fuzzy inference system are written by taking into account the data available as well as by using logical reasoning.
