Development of the Information Exchange Platform for Logistics Agencies

Abstract
One of the most booming parts of the logistics market, the freight agency plays an important role in the enhancement of information exchange and the improvement of economic efficiency. However, as an independent economic body, its varied and scattered organization impedes on the pace at which logistics networks is built. Focusing on the relationship between the lorry, freight agency, and goods owner, this paper presents the development method of the logistics information exchange platform based on the freight agency using the computer terminal, mobile phone, personal digital assistant (PDA), and touch screen as information interactive tool. The developed system has been applied for the logistics market in Hanzheng Street, Wuhan, and its operation results show that it can meet the needs of traders and pertinent commercial activities.
