Abstract
This paper researches the power coal transportation and inventory problem. We analyze the present situation of power coal transportation and the structure of the power coal supply chain in China. Aiming at coal demand fluctuations and railway transportation capacity constraints, we use balanced transportation and a bi-hierocracy inventory model in coal inventory and a rail transportation joint optimization method to reduce the cost of the coal supply chain. Also, we use an empirical example of the Xinjiang coal supply to explain the economic feasibility of the model.
