Abstract
Limitations of predicting post-construction settlement for foundations under surcharge preloading are analyzed by hyperbola method, index curve method and three-point method. The sedimentation coefficient m is derived, coefficients of inverse calculation are used as settlement calculation parameters, the effect of overload on post-construction settlement is considered, and the calculation formula for predicting post-construction settlement of an overload preloadedfoundation is deduced. This method accurately predicts post-construction settlement of a soft soil foundation treatment project for a portion of coastal expressway, K143+500-K143+645, which involved overload preloading.
