Abstract
The influential factors of indoor thermal comfort, such as passengers' stopping time, inner-room temperature, wind speed, relative humidity, were analyzed based on the questionnaires and local tests of summer thermal comfort for train station waiting-rooms in various climate areas and different grades of China. It is shown that the thermal comfort of train station waiting-rooms that accommodate many passengers is not only related to the parameters of the internal thermal environment but also related to train station grades and passengers' waiting time. Findings also show that better ventilation can impove indoor comfort rates. Hence, the design of thermal comfort for train station waiting rooms should meet the special requirements for train stations. Different thermal comfort standards can be set according to different levels of station. The cooling and heat should be adjusted according to the actual situation of different stations. Comfort rate can be improved through changing the ventilation system to increase the indoor wind speed.
