Abstract
In order to further solve the problem of traffic jams in cities, this paper regards the single-point urban road intersection as the research object. Combining traffic characteristics and operation characteristics of left-turning traffic flow in China's urban road signal intersections, we established a road blocking function model of left-turning vehicles which is suitable to the condition of China 's urban road signal intersections. This model would turn the delay time of turning left through the intersection into the delay time to wait and the delay time of passage, and the delay time of the passage was divided into the delay time of green and yellow light passage. In the course of the study, we changed the time-division method of dynamic random traffic for the static random traffic. Then, we used the Erlanger distribution separately to calculate the average headway of the left-turning vehicles, and would standardize the headway allowed and headway refused. Next, we integrated and devised the delay time, and discussed a variety of situations of the left-turning during the delay time. Finally, we used different road resistance calculation algorithms about vehicles in different situations, and achieved good results.
