Abstract
The selection of Signal Control Plan to improve overall operation of traffic intersection is of great significance. The paper takes Custom Bridge intersection as an example on the basis of statistical analysis about intersection's survey data, sets up six signal control plans using the principles and methods about signal control plan, uses VISSIM for the selection and analysis about the six signal control options in terms of delays and queue length, and then selects the best option. The results showed that the use of VISSIM in the intersection's selection and analysis about the signal control plan not only met the need of the election, but also maximized conservation of resources. It is a practical, convenient and intuitive method.
