Abstract
In the course of traffic impact analysis (TIA), confirming the number and location of construction project accesses for vehicles (CPAV) is an important analytical content of the TIA. There is a shortage of efficient methods to design a CPAV. Therefore, based on a characteristics analysis of 686 vehicle accesses from 189 TIA projects in Beijing, 42 survey locations were chosen as study objects for this research. After analysis, headway samples were collected from the 42 locations, a mathematical model was set up to analyze the capacity of the CPAVs, and queuing theory was used to evaluate the level of service (LOS) of the CPAVs. Finally, a systematic analysis methodology is proposed to establish the guidelines for the determination of access location.
