Abstract
Karkheh reservoir earth dam is located on the NW of the Persian Gulf with a capacity of 7'8MCM. This study is based on monitoring records years 1995 to 2007. Seepages and water pressure data are used to inform the critical alarms of dam lake level. As a result of this, winter flood was discharged to fix the normal level. Useful volumes will decrease from 3'800 to 1'800MCM (fifty percent of the total volume). SSM —Step Stiffness Method- will interpret the strength of material behavior. It can be used to solve the discharge problems. Research of monitoring data will be proved to guarantee the safe behavior of the Karkheh dam. It can be concluded that winter floods may be saved to increase the water level. Water leakage and stability behavior will serve the best alarm control of dam. This correlation will show the solution that will be applied by SSM and records.
