Abstract
Based on the study of the 1/2 vehicle body of a semi-active suspension with fuzzy control, and taking into consideration such factors as engine and "passenger-seat" system, an automotive dynamic model of 1/4 vehicle body with 4-DOF is created. A parameters-self-tuning fuzzy PID controller is designed for the semi-active hydraulic suspension of the 1/4 vehicle body. The results of simulation by MATLAB/Simulink software show that the high-frequency constant engine excitation has little effect on acceleration of the vehicle seats, and the fuzzy PID controller is more self-adaptable than the fuzzy controller; therefore, ride comfort of the vehicle is better.
