Coordination Policies of Supply Chain Where Deterioration Begins at a Random Time Point

Abstract
This paper investigates the manufacturer's optimal wholesale price and return policy as well as the retailer's optimum order size and price decisions in a supply chain, where deterioration begins at a random time point. In the current study we assume that the retail price can only be adjusted once at that point according to the lifetime of product in the cycle and current stock level. The numerical example illustrates that the channel coordination of supply chain can be obtained if the manufacturer offers a reasonable wholesale price and return price where they refund retailer full credit for all unsold goods.
