Analysis Method for the Prestressed Concrete Bridges Based on Time-Dependent Theory

Abstract
Based on the equilibrium equation of the section and structure, an analytical method for predicting properties of the bridge structure is proposed in this paper. In the method, time-dependent factors such as shrinkage and creep in concrete, relaxation in the tendon, as well as temperature are synthetically considered. It is shown that the method is more comprehensive, easier, and more accurate than traditional methods. With this method, a long-term evaluation for stresses and deformation on any section of pre-stressed concrete beams at any time from the beginning of construction to opening, even to many years later, can be completed. The results based on the theoretical analysis is proven by practical engineering.
