Abstract
Walking is one of the important traffic modes in Beijing central city, and should be given sufficient attention. This paper, through a large of field survey and literature review, analyzed and summarized the difficulties faced by walking traffic, including traffic infrastructure, traffic environment and pedestrian safety awareness and such issues under the rapid development of motorization and trip demand. A series of ensured measures were listed at the end to improve walking environment.
