Data Mining Platform Based on AIS Data

Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2009

Abstract

The purpose of marine traffic survey is to gather and analyze basic data by using all effective means so that researchers are able to know the traffic status, characteristics and general rules both from macroscopic and microscopic views. Based on the data from distributed system, database technology, the paper sets up the AIS Data Mining Platform and then obtain the eigenvalue to reflect the marine traffic by the means of Clustering and statistics. The platform can offer basic data support for further data mining, marine traffic flow forecast and development and programming of marine traffic engineering.
