Characteristics Analysis of Bus Stops: A Case Study in Beijing Central City
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2009
Abstract
In this paper, based on the analysis of key factors, some traffic surveys and questionnaires are carried through around bus stops in Beijing Central City. According to the data analysis, some models about bus arrival characteristics, bus dwell time distribution, relationship between passengers' on and off the bus time and passenger flow, bus time headway distribution etc. are developed and provide sound basis for the new design and rebuilding of bus stops. Finally, several suggestions about the bus stops in Beijing Central City are recommended according to the survey and data analysis.
