Density and Location of Transverse Passage Facilities Based on Detouring Coefficient
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2009
Abstract
Transverse passage facilities are setup to resolve the trip of the residents & the production and development of the region at both sides of high-grade highways. Transverse passage facilities, especially the amount of the underpasses, will influence the average filling height of the whole highway. Therefore, the reasonable density and location of transverse passage facilities are very essential. The maximum distance of transverse passage facilities for the planned highway is determined by the largest detouring coefficient of the highway in this article. It should be a rectangular region along the road and the distance from the center of the road is not equidistant. In this paper, the density influence factors of the transverse passage facilities in the impact region are studies and the density models of transverse passage facilities are set up respectively in view of the different using functions of pedestrian overpass or underpass & traffic underpass or bridge studies, then the reasonable distance between passages is put forward combining with the longest tolerable detouring distance for residents. After that, checks the coefficient of detouring through the traffic distribution examination, establishes optimization model for selecting the site of transverse passage facilities. Finally, decides the establishment density and the concrete position of the transverse passage facilities about the planned highway.
