Influence of Primary Suspension System to Dynamic Performance of High-Speed EMU
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2009
Abstract
With the opening of Jingjin inter-city high-speed railway, the speed of EMU has reached 350 km/h in China, so the dynamics of the running EMU has become increasingly important. For railway vehicles, the primary suspension system takes a very important role in its high-speed stability, the ride index of its running, and curve negotiation performance. The tumbler journal box has been widely used in high-speed EMU and the high-speed coach in China and other countries, because it's convenient to select its longitudinal, lateral, and vertical stiffness. This paper takes a certain high-speed EMU in which the tumbler journal box is applied as an example, to build a complete model through SIMPACK, to analyze how the changes of its lateral and longitudinal stiffness would affect the EMU's stability, ride index and curve negotiation performance. Through the optimizing analysis of the parameters, it is found that a reasonable configuration of parameters can achieve an ideal configuration of its stability and curve negotiation performance, fully realizing the advantages of the tumbler journal box. In the simulation, the LMA wheel tread is matched with Rail 60 kg/m for the wheel/rail contact, and the German high-speed low-interference track spectrum is adopted for the track irregularity.
