Evaluation of Urban Passenger Transportation Transfer Hub Based On Combinational Evaluation Model
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2009
Abstract
Since 17th century, urban public transportation has become one of the most important part of the whole urban transportation system, its development level is not only a significant symbol of the national modernization, but also reflects the general economic strength of the country and the citizens' living standard directly as well. Transfer hub is an important subsystem of urban transportation system and the key to the integration, which is significant for the perfection of the city structure and rationalization of land use. In order to evaluate the layout, operation and service level of transfer hub and to optimize planning schemes, according to five principles, this paper presents five evaluation indices. In practical engineering, the indices were defined; their calculating methods and grade values were given. According to the basic principles of subjective and objective weighting methods, an evaluation model for urban public transfer hub is built up by means of a combinational evaluation method based on Multi-objective Programming and an example is given to validate the practicability of it.
