Abstract
The microstructure morphology of asphalt rubber was observed by fluorescence microscope. Besides, mix-melting mechanism of asphalt rubber was also studied. This paper analyzed the influence of the parameters, such as the size of rubber powder mixing amount and mixing temperature, to the performance of asphalt. The results indicated that addition of rubber powder could improve the performance of the asphalt. By a series experiments, it shows that the technical performance of asphalt rubber made by rubber powder (20 mesh) is better than that made by 40 and 60 mesh. The optimal mixing amount of 18% was identified through the studying on the performance of different mixing amount of asphalt rubber. The proper sheer temperature of producing ranges from 170°C to 180°C, the proper sheer speed is 7000 r/min and the proper sheer time is 60 min.
