Application of Fuzzy – AHP Method to Optimal Selection of FPDS
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2009
Abstract
Fuzzy-AHP is a method to assess flight procedure design schemes (FPDS) based on the principles of safety, simplicity, and economy. The purpose of Fuzzy-AHP is to evaluate various FPDS unabashedly, comprehensively and effectively. There are various factors or indexes which impacts the FPDS, such as airspace construction, air traffic management, aerodrome serviceability, aircraft performance, peak hour flights, and etc. Fuzzy-AHP takes these factors into consideration, gives theory of assessment for the FPDS, FPDS assessment indexes, comprehensive weighting coefficient matrix, and offers solution method. As an example, we applied Fuzzy-AHP to evaluate ManYang/NanJiao area navigation (global navigation satellite systems) (RNAV (GNSS)) flight procedure design alternative schemes. The result shows that Fuzzy-AHP is an effective, reasonable, and practical method for the assessment of FPDS.
