Abstract
(This paper has been retracted from the proceedings. The PDF file is no longer available in the Research Library).paper presents a random regret-minimization model of travel choice based on information. The model is rooted in regret theory and considers the influence of information to spatial choice behavior and individuals updating their beliefs about locations. Differs form other models of travel choice based on random utility-maximization, we considered the individual's two travel choice behaviors under conditions of limited information. The first is to avoid the regret i.e. a non-chosen alternative turns out to be more attractive than the chosen one. The second is to postpone their choice and search for more information. Before making a trip, individuals may increase their knowledge about their environment via searching for information and considered the influence of information to alternatives and beliefs. The proposed model refers to the travel choice behavior under the situation of information and random regret-minimization. The model is proved to be accord with reality.
