Abstract
By analyzing the travel diary data in Bengbu and Shenyang with descriptive statistics and logistic regression methods, this paper firstly discusses the continuity and commutability characteristics of public transport use, and then explore how individual/household attributes and travel-activity attributes affect public transport mode choice. The results show that, once the residents choose the motorcycles, private car or company car in their first trip, the possibility of using public transport in the day drop dramatically. The commutability characteristic of public transport use suggests the reasonable design for the connection of walk system, bike system and public transport system enhances the bus use. And some useful advices are given out in the end of this paper.
