Abstract
In order to avoid traffic accident and damages to highway induced by oversize vehicles, reduce tax loss, two laser measurement sensors were employed to scan vehicles to acquire half outlines respectively and every coordinate. According to the minimum abscissa of left outline and maximal abscissa of right outline, minimum ordinate of two outlines, the height and width of vehicles were obtained based on comparatively calculating. The synthesize methods conduced to reveal the whole outline of vehicles. The two benchmarks consisted of laser curtain and light-electricity switch identified vehicles length. Through comparison with the standard of oversize transportation, illegal vehicles were accordingly identified. The system can store vehicle's license in time with visible results. Through testing in scene, results indicate that measuring error is within ±3%.
