Abstract
In order to research noise-reducing character of Open-graded Friction Courses (OGFC), Site test of noise on OGFC pavement with crumb rubber modified asphalt and dense-graded pavement with common modified asphalt is under way at different speed types and situation of vehicle by sound level meter. It shows that the maximum noise reduction of OGFC pavement is 8.9 dB in contrast with dense-graded pavement. At the same time, the sound absorbing coefficient of test sample for two kinds of pavement is measured with Standing wave tube at the different thicknesses. It's found that the OGFC pavement of 40mm thickness can gain the maximum noise-reducing effect. At last, the conclusion reveal that OGFC pavement of 40mm thickness with crumb rubber modified asphalt mixture has better noise-reducing effect in low noise road.
