Simulation on Nonlinear Vibration Characteristics of Off-Road Vehicle Hydro-Pneumatic Suspension

Abstract

Taking the characteristics of off-road no-suspension vehicle into account, a new type of adjustable damping hydro-pneumatic suspension was put forward. Based on the analysis of working principle, the nonlinear mathematical model of suspension was set up, and the stiffness and damping characteristics were investigated and analyzed. Through analyzing stiffness characteristic model, the influences of initialization pressure and volume of accumulator and area ratio of piston effectual working area to stiffness characteristic were put forward. Using MATLAB/Simulink, the damping characteristics model and the factors influence to damping force were studied. At same time, the rules of the frequency and amplitude of excitation, the number and diameter of damper hole and cross-sectional area of adjustable throttle to damping characteristics of hydro-pneumatic suspension were also put forward.
