Developments in Australasia in Precast Concrete Bridge Beam Technology
Publication: Structures Congress 2008: Crossing Borders
Abstract
The Super T bridge beam system has become the standard system for bridges in the 20 to 35m span range in use in Australasia totally replacing the previously popular precast I girder bridging system. The Super T system has proved to provide a versatile and economic solution to structures in this range offering speedy construction and the versatility to be able to accomodate the complex geometry demanded in modern motorway and interchange configurations and maximising the off site labour component of the work.
