Evaluation of Vehicle's Performance on Road Transportation
Publication: Logistics: The Emerging Frontiers of Transportation and Development in China
Abstract
A simulation model for analyzing the performance of various vehicles on road transportation has been set up in this paper using advisor (ADvanced Vehicle SimulatOR) software. Most of the components in the vehicle system have been considered in the model including the engines, batteries, hydrogen supply, and cooling systems. The performance of Internal-combustion-engine vehicles (ICE), (ICE)-battery hybrid vehicles(HEVs), pure-battery vehicles(EVs) and fuel cell vehicles for road transportation all be evaluated using the model. The simulation demonstrated that for most type of vehicle, EVs show primary energy benefits and high efficiency on various work conditions. Fuel cells also represent a big promise of cleanliness and high energy efficiency. Emissions of gasoline vehicles are more than other fuel on most conditions. But the emissions of CO for gasoline vehicles are lower than gasoline-ev hybrid vehicles at HWFET and ECE+EUDC driving cycles. At last, the advantages and disadvantages of various vehicles have been discussed in this paper.
